Propertyis covered by white oaks with a few stands of traditional pines. Ring-necked pheasant, bobwhite quail and chukar partridge are the quarry.

Personnel
Professional managers and brothers Xan and Jason Smythe both graduated from Southeastern Illinois College majoring in Commercial Wildlife Management.Together they bring experience from Illinois; King Ranch, Texas; San Antonio,Texas; South Georgia; Atlanta and Georgetown, S.C. Both are level I NSCAshooting instructors and have worked and trained a number of German shorthairedand English pointers. The entire Smythe family assists with the daily operation of Cedar Tree Plantation highlighted by the grits to gourmet cooking of Gwen "MOM" Smythe.

Location
The preserve is located directly on I-77 at Exit 34 to Ridgeway, S.C. - 0.5 miles turn left at Van Exem Road. The Plantation is a short 30 minutedrive from Columbia, S.C. and 50 minutes from Charlotte, N.C.

Game Birds
Quail, pheasant and chukar partridge are present in their natural habitat for the wingshooter. Pre-released and preservegame birds.
Accommodations and Lodge
Our log cabin is currently under construction to be ready 1999-2000. 140-year-oldhistoric home on the property is used for meetings, meals and office. RamadaInn Limited (0.5 miles) available - phone 803-337-7575. We will make reservationsonly for package customers. We have limited accommodations on site this year.
Hunts
The preserve limit is 14 quail and 4 chukar for 1/2 day hunter. Additionalbirds and pheasant are available upon request. Your dogs or ours. Each hunt is guidedand catered to the individual needs of the customer. Physically challenged patrons, novice shooters, father/son or daughter pairs and women seekingoutdoor adventures are welcome. Hunts start at 9AM and 2PM.
Summer Camp
Three sessions June, July, and August. Day camp with one night sleep over. Kids 10-14 years old. Hunters' Safety Course, Archery, Safe Gun Handling, Fishing, Sporting Clays, Hunting Dog Demo, Nature Hikes, 22 Cal. Range, Shotgunning, Camping, Wildlife Demonstrations, and a great week of fun in the outdoors.
Pheasant Shoots
Twenty Shooting Stations will be drawn for on Sunday
afternoon. Hunt starts at 2:00 to 4:00pm. Eight (8)
hotel kempinski Techirghiolpheasants will be released per station, hunt followed by
a great meal and fellowship. Bring your wife, child, or
dog. One gun per station. Rotate stations every 20 minutes. Dates to be announced.
Parent/Child Hunting Weekends
Parent and Child under 15 years old come to CTP for
overnight stay includes meals, bird hunt Friday afternoon,deer hunt Friday evening, deer hunt Saturday morning, followed by a bird hunt late Saturday morning and lunch. Onlyone pair per weekend starting October through January 1st in Fairfield county. No Sunday deer hunting In Fairfield county.
